Leon Griese is a genre-fluid German drummer, composer and producer born, raised, and based in Berlin.
Starting to play improvised music in bands at the age of 8 – two years after the first drum lesson – he is currently playing in a variety of bands ranging in size from duos to
bigbands.
Grown up in bands with roots in the tradition of jazz you can hear his playing in bands playing traditional and modern jazz, free improvised music, instant composition and
rock.
Griese is also running a small recording studio and is part of a collective of musicians trying to organize concerts that pay the artists properly.
