Drummer Félix Simtaine, a leading figure of Belgian jazz, companion of René Thomas and Bobby Jaspar in his youth, has played with the greatest: from Toots Thielemans to Joe Lovano, including Georges Coleman, Sal Nistico, Slide Hampton, Lew Tabackin, …
For the last five decades, he has been an essential personality in the Belgian jazz landscape.
Simtaine was a regular sideman with Charles Loos, Michel Herr, Steve Houben, Jeanfrançois Prins, Eric Legnini, Richard Rousselet, John Ruocco, Octurn.
In the 80’s, he set up the Act Big Band as leader, with Michel Herr as musical director.
He now leads his own group Ten Tamarre.
